I purchased this mount in 2021 (took over a year to get it) I had hoped it would handle a 6in refractor I was building. In the mean time I modified my 4in. refractor I built to use on this mount (7.5 lbs ) but was very unstable when using higher mag. (over 100x). I modified the mount by removing the lower section of the legs and replacing them with straight pipe (tight fit).still unstable. Point being my opinion is that this mount capacity is more like 5 lbs not 15. I'm probably going to purchase another mount. I was able to modify a celestron clock drive (made a different bracket) to use on this mount. Probably put a 3in scope on it.
