Jeremy's Review of 5.11 Tactical Rush Delivery Mike Bag

This is a very well made bag, with great materials, but a little over-engineered. There are plenty of pockets for all kinds of things, but you run into trouble if you actually put anything in the pockets. The main compartment of the bag has two padded dividers that take up most of the internal volume. The padded divider in the back is for a laptop, but is has to be a small laptop (less than 12.5" wide, maybe 13"). I'm not sure what the second padded divider is for (laptop and a tablet?), but it takes up a lot of space. With absolutely nothing in it, the bag is already about 2" thick. The max thickness of the bag is listed as 3.5", so that doesn't leave you with much room to actually put anything in the bag. It will expand to a little over 4" thick if you really stuff it, but then it bulges out, things are tight to get in and out and it looks like a lumpy mess. The bag also has a concealed carry compartment on the back, but again, if you actually put a pistol in there it bulges out and is tight to get in and out if there is anything else in the bag. This is especially true if you have a laptop in the back. The rigid laptop makes the pistol stick out and creates a curve right in the middle of the bag so it rocks back and forth against your body or if you set it down on a table. I ordered the bag in OD Trail, which is a nice color scheme and I really want to like this bag, but I am going to return it. It's just too tight and lumpy once I put my stuff in it.
If you are looking to carry a small laptop or tablet, and maybe a few pens or (thin) paper files, this bag will work for you. Otherwise, I would not recommend it. The main reason to buy a 5.11 bag, at least for me, is that it has a place for concealed carry. But, this bag is so tightly made it cancels out that advantage and you may as well buy a regular laptop bag.
