gorabusu's Review of 5.11 Tactical Operator 1 3/4 inch Belt

I've been leading up to this belt over the past 2 years. Went with the 1.5" 511 TDU first - too thin and didn't hold my gear, felt like a strap around my waist. Then went with the 511 reversible - definitely thicker but when wearing, the buckle is not the lowest profile - and it's plastic. that's still my go to belt when traveling and most days for EDC. But I needed a little more 'belt' for matches and EDC options so I picked up the operator 1.75". Buckle system is simple, flatter profile than the TDUs - and it's steel. I like leather belts because of the support and this belt definitely doesn't feel like a strap but a real belt thanks to the stiffener and extra width and it's not over the top either. Supports clothing and gear nicely (use an OWB tactical measure holster for 9mm compact with Blackhawk double mag pouch). more than sufficient and can add gear no problem. This is a great alternative EDC belt. 1.75" width will fit levis jeans, vertex pants (make sure you verify what your belt loops will accept). My only problem is (and it's significant)I followed the sizing directions and it fits BUT the end section of the belt that doubles back and fastens down via Velcro is too long and interferes with my holster. I'm a 34 waist so I ordered a Large since medium was 32-34". Turns out Medium was really what I needed to cut down the section the doubles back. I'm contacting optics planet to exchange if theres no additional shipping to have the correct size sent (that's the catch). Unfortunately, the sizing doesn't mention this and really needs to be rewritten by 511 - which is where I went to make sure I had the most accurate sizing info. So I have a great belt that I'm dying to wear everyday that's one size too big. Optics planet can you assist??
