There are a lot of things I really like about this bag, and only one thing I wish the bag had but doesn't.
First, I have a difficult time looking at the dimensions of a bag and figuring out what that space actually means in terms of use. I was worried this might not be big enough, but it is excellent for my needs.
The main compartment has a couple of Velcro panels to create separated compartments. I have the main split lengthwise, with the panel set a little further back than center. In the more narrow area, I have plenty of room for ammo & targets. In the wider area I put in a divider about 1/3 over from one side. In the smaller compartment I have my eyes/ears and in the larger compartment, I'm able to fit my XDm Compact 9mm, XDm Full-size 9mm and XDm Competition 9mm as well as my M&P Full-size 9mm. All of the pistols are in 12 x 8 pistol rugs. Its snug with all 4 guns, but they do fit. There are 2 Velcro closure pockets inside on each end that Im not currently using but Ill probably use one for my wallet when Im shooting as its a little more secure than in an outside, easy access pocket.
The outside zipper pockets on either end are big. In one pocket I have 3 -17 round mags for my M&P and 3 - 13 round mags for my XDm Compact. In the other pocket I have 8 - 19 round XDm mags. If this bag were perfect, it would have magazine pockets either externally on the back of the bag with Velcro flap tops or inside the lid. Theres nothing on the back of the bag other than a Velcro panel that can be used to attach an identification patch. Since Im not FBI, ATF, DEA, DHS, etc, this space is just wasted.
The front of the bag has a couple of deep pockets that have gathered elastic at the top. I'm going to put a water bottle in one and I'll probably use the other for my keys when I'm at the range. Also in the front is a flat zippered pocket. My Shoot N C targets would actually fit but it would be harder to see which one I want to pull out. Ill probably use this pocket to store my cell phone when Im shooting.
The lid of the bag has zippered pockets on either end where Ive stored my speed loaders. In the middle there are a couple of pen slots and a small pocket that Ill probably use for a notepad.
The bag is heavy duty nylon that's been treated to be waterproof and is very well padded.
This bag is a good size for someone like me that tends to take multiple guns to the range. My friend, who ordered the standard size deluxe bag, only takes one pistol to the range and is happy with the smaller size.
Pros: Quality, high capacity
Cons: no magazine pockets
