Rob the independent semi-liberal moderate's Review of HIPERFIRE EDT 2-Stage AR-15/AR-10 Trigger

For the price, especially on sale, this is a solid choice for a 2 stage trigger.

I installed the trigger, and it functions fine. The trigger felt a bit rough for the first 50-100 pulls, then started to smooth out some. I expect it will do so more, as the sear surfaces were unpolished after the finish coat. As the polishing mimics a few hundred to thousand rounds of fire and the wear it causes on the trigger, this is expected.

It has (with lighter hammer spring installed) a notably lighter pull than a mil-spec or Griffin's 2 Stage trigger, but not as light as most of my 2 stage triggers (Geissele G2S, LaRue MBT-2s, Timney Targa, Hiperfire Xtreme 2 Stage). As the sears came unpolished, it should not be surprising that the pull isn't as smooth as those triggers either, but again, it smooths out with usage. The pull weight through the first stage feels less consistent than most of the more expensive triggers I've used.

My feelings on it from dry firing are that I prefer it to Schmid Tool 2 stage triggers (Aero and other sell these re-branded) that seem to be in the same price range. It's not as smooth or steady as the LaRue MBT-2S or the Geissele G2S which are a little more expensive.

For the price, it's a good trigger. It's an affordable upgrade from milspec that's appropriate to install in a DMR build or a hunting rifle, or even a defensive weapon. It also would be, with the heavier hammer installed, appropriate for professional usage, depending on your personal trigger preferences.

If you need to watch the budget and still have a decent trigger, this is a good way to go.
