wambatex's Review of Hornady Precision Hunter 7mm Remington Magnum 162 Grain Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding Centerfire Rifle Ammunition

Most companies push tipped bullets for accuracy and rapid expansion. Which is great if your hunting coyotes or squirrels. This is just one of a few tipped bullets that will drive through medium sized game (deer) without exploding into pieces. Through a older Browning A-bolt, I'm getting 1.5 to 1.75 at a 200 yard zero. Remember, that a hunting bullet is what you want. Target or Predators bullets do work great on medium size game, but require precision shooting into the vitals - no bones. I practice, but I'm not perfect, things happen. I want a bullet capable of driving from stem to stern or through both shoulders without exploding. This bullet has performed as expected on numerous bucks. Also, don't be fooled into thinking that you have to have a 140 or 150 grain bullet all the time in everything you shoot. FYI - Go look at the picture of bullets - cut in half - that some companies says are made for deer and for deep expansion, then go look at the their pictures of bullets for rapid expansion on small GAME - lots of time its the same bullet and same picture!!
