Mr. Zorg's Review of KONUS 7272 KONUSPRO+ 3-10X44 IR

I have two of these Konuspro Plus model 7272 scopes and each cost about $100 when I purchased them. The optics are clear, the 3" eye relief has worked fine on my Interarms Mark X .25-06 rifle with 24" barrel. The "fast focus" eyepiece control is great because I don't have to apply torque directly to the scope to adjust, and the illuminated reticle was an exceptionally prime feature allowing me to take two feral hogs right at dusk, particularly regarding the hog with a black coat. Spot-on neck (first hog) and skull (second hog) shots at roughly 100 yards dropped them on the spot, "bang-flop"! Zero tracking and maximum meat quality with no running after being shot. While stepping out of the bed if a ranch truck, I stumbled with me and my scoped rifle taking a nasty spill onto a rock paved parking area. I checked point of aim the next day and the scope held its zero! I plan to mount my other Konus model 7272 scope on a 7X64mm Brenneke rifle I'm rehabbing / customizing. Great quality product at a bargain price, too bad Konus discontinued this model, although the Konus model 7255 scope, identical except no illuminated reticle in the 7255, is still available -for now anyway.
Pros:
  • value
  • rugged construction
  • Illuminated reticle
Cons:
  • Discontinued
Best Used for:
  • Hunters not caught up in brand name cachet
