Gary K's Review of Mimtac Drastic AR-15 Drop-in Trigger

I purchased 4 of these triggers. First of all they are not for the novice. there is not even a hint of take up. it is just a wall, then you squeeze and it goes off, length of travel is so short that you really have to try to hold trigger back and then let it down to feel and hear the reset. Its a very short reset really short!! so there will be doubletaps and even triple taps, and not on purpose! the other thing that is more important is ofbthe 4 only one is the advertised lbs. pull. they all are different and not by oz. by .5 a pounds, the spread between the 4 triggers is one was about 2.75lbs. then up to 5.5 lbs. DO NOT TRY AND TAKE THE GLUE THEY PUT IN THE ALLEN SCREW HOLE! AND TRY TO ADJUST ANYTHING! it will just do a slam fire type thing. maybe 3 shots almost like full auto. not for the novice shooter. the price is right but its just too tight in the perimeters. I like the price with coupons, and OP points etc. but the one that I am using I'm using on a target/varmit long shot gun. the other three I'll just hand on to until someone I known that competes etc. and gift them. if your into 3 gun amd you shoot a lot like I do then go for it. just don't expect exactly 3.5lbs. you.might get a 4 or even as much as a 5 lb. also they don't provide the 2 extra short allen screws to lock the ones that you snug after install that press down on the bottom of the reciever. it gives it isometric tention and keeps the trigger tight against the anti walk pins. push down. the two extra screws would allow you to lock them. I have an assortment of real small short set screws. I think they are 4-40 x1/8" . you could use a touch . just a light drop on the 2 set screws they provide. they will already be in the two holes. you'll have to unscrew them and clean the holes and the set screws good before you apply a touch of blue loctite. then you may not have to go and get 2 set screws to lock them down. feeew...that was a long review! nuff said. good luck and be careful with these triggers.
