This is my first Nikon and having owned Leupold, Trijicon, Vortex and other glass I think the bar was set pretty high. That said, I'm very impressed with the Monarch 3. I put it on a Savage MKII FV-SR and while the scope is overkill for this gun in terms of range and recoil, it is a fantastic scope nonetheless. Very clear, great in low-light, construction is top notch and the adjustments are precise and tactile. I had it zeroed (like keyhole zero) in less than 10 rounds. I wish I had another rifle because I'd get another Monarch 3 in a heartbeat. Highly recommend. I list "price" as a con only because it will be prohibitive to some folks, but I think this is worth the expense. It's the type of mid-range glass that you'll likely be passing down to your kids.
