WettDoggTV's Review of Nitecore Intelligent Series RSW2i Wireless Pressure Switch

I have a Kriss Vector and I have my nitecore light mounted on the right side which is somewhat awkward to begin with being a right handed shooter.. To solve this issue I looked for a pressure pad.. I came across this wireless one and thought, what an amazing idea, I can put this on my Pic rail on the left side under the charging handle.. It didn't work out quite the way I wanted.. first the mounts that the pad fit in wouldn't fit on the pic rail properly, I had to discard them and use zip ties.. Then came the pairing with the light.. Its ridiculously difficult and unnecessarily hard to operate.. U have to press it half way quickly 5 times, the blue light blinks fast and then u hold down both buttons on the pressure pad and it's supposed to pair.. After 10 times trying it finally did.. Then if u want to use the light and pad together after it's been turned off, u have to quickly, half press the light button 3 times, the light will blink slowly, then u can use it at your leisure.. But cycling through modes is really dumb and complicated and once u get it where u want it, you'll accidentally toggle to a wrong setting and it will be a pain to get it back to where u want it.. This will not help u turn your gun into a pdw for home defense to quickly identify a threat.. Because it takes way to long to set it up between uses.. And if u disconnect the cap off the back of the light, u gotta do the 5 half click method again.. No way are u just gonna pick this up and press a button and activate the light.. The way u want it to be.. U have to do way to much.. This will work best for a range light, at night shooting where there's no pressure or any need to be efficient.. Thats what I use it for and it works well for that.. thats why it got 2 stars and not 1.. it was a great idea that was executed poorly.. I bet they could rethink this and make it a really useful product..
Pros:
  • A cool idea
  • A cool idea but that's it
Cons:
  • overly complicated design
  • Way too complicated to set up and operate
Best Used for:
  • Range use at night where there's zero pressure and no need for threat identification
