Enfield1200's Review of POF USA Barrel AR-15 5.56 Nato 16.5in. 1:8 Mid-length E2 Tech

The barrel comes with a nitride finish and has a profile that is cut in a way to more evenly distribute the weight, unlike the standard government profile, which tends to be more front heavy. The barrel extension fits snugly into the receiver, and was consistent when tried with several brands of upper receivers. The "E2 tec" is referring to partial fluting of the chamber, alleging more reliable function as some of the gas pushes around the brass, helping to break the case loose from the chamber. The barrel is dimpled for a low profile gas block, but remember that the spacing of the set screw holes varies by manufacturer, so not all blocks will have both holes line up perfectly.

Previous reviewers have reported the price is too expensive and is not accurate. First, Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF) is a reputable manufacturer and the price of this barrel is on par with other reputable manufacturers as of 2022. Second, the barrel is plenty accurate, shooting groups about the size of a dime at 25 yards with 55gr PMC bronze, however your results may vary. Third, I've had reliable function with about 500 rounds fired with 0 malfunctions both suppressed and unsuppressed, even without cleaning the rifle after every range session and with two separate gas blocks. Honestly, I think the previous reviews are selling this product short. Most "off the rack" military rifles shoot about 2-3 MOA. Accuracy is affected by many factors such as bullet weight, weather, wind, handguards, trigger, etc... The barrel is just one part of the system making up an ar15. If you want ultra-match accuracy, be prepared to build a rifle specifically for that purpose. If you want a barrel that just works and has the cool addition of a partially fluted chamber, then I would absolutely recommend this product. I hope this helps.
