zmann's Review of OpticsPlanet Exclusive Pulsar Core RXQ30V 1.6-6.4x22mm Thermal Imaging Rifle Scope

Comparing it to my Pulsar Axion mono I have to say I like it more for the fact that the power starts out at 1.6 compared to 4. Which gives me a bigger field of view.

Things it doesnt have compared to my mono that I knew before buying it. Video, pictures, many different Hot displays. Can I get over not having video,,,maybe but like I said I knew this before buying it.

I ended up ordering the quick release mount because I believe the Core will be better at scanning while in the woods because of the low power rating of 1.6

Compared to my mono when it comes to adjusting to higher magnification. They both stink. They get to pixelated

Is it clear at the 1.6 magnification,,,yes. It should easily allow me shots out to 200yds

Am I happy with my purchase,,,YES,,,,Im very happy with the quality of the scope for what I paid and the specs look better than the lower cost ATN product,,,,plus Pulsars customer service is super. Ive had no problems but had questions,,Questions were answered in 2 days by email.

The only thing I'm not sure I can get over,, is something I knew it didnt have before I bought it,,,NO VIDEO :)
Pros:
  • Everything about the unit for the cost
Cons:
  • No video
Best Used for:
  • Hunting 10yd - 300yds
  • hunting 10yd - 300yds
