Denvershooter's Review of Sightmark Triple Duty 2.5-10x32 CDX Rifle Scopes

If you're looking for a low cost optic that survives light to moderate use, this isn't a bad option. Weight is an issue with this beast, also the image shown isn't correct for the optic. I've not had it long, but I have it set up on a Marlin 336 as far forward as the moderate eye relief allows, still not exactly a good "scout forward" optic, but it fit the bill for a low budget truck gun build AKA The Hill Billy Black Rifle Assault Lever Gun. Less than 10 rounds to zero, no drift at the moment, but it's only been out for 2 range trips. A mountain heavy shooting day trip should give me a better idea of cold weather performance and how well it holds its zero after being stored for about 30 days without use.

A side note, replace the battery that comes with it. Mine died about 20 minutes into the zero'ing range trip. No worries, I carry plenty of spare batteries. I'll be curious to see how long the battery last both with a longer days use and after storage.

Over all, not a bad entry level optic, especially if you're looking to test the design on a rifle without dropping $700-1200. Eventually I'll replace this with a Leupold VX-R 3-9 firedot but for now, this will do.
Pros:
  • price, was on sale
  • Core Features
  • reticle options
  • target turrets
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • Lower end optic, don't expect this to survive the end of the world
  • short battery life
  • Did I mention heavy?
Best Used for:
  • Light to moderate range use
  • Maybe good for hunting if the scope isn't roughed up too much
