Tom's Review of Sightmark Ultra Shot M-Spec 1x 24 mm Reflex Sight, 65 MOA Red Circle Dot Reticle

I needed another Red Dot Scope to cover a new 7.62x39mm AR build I just completed until I decides to spend $500.00+ dollars on another serious use optic. Out of the box the Ultra Shot M-Spec appeared well made and all the function worked as they should so I mounted the unit and headed out to the range. The recital was well defined and bright enough to use in strong direct sunlight from most angles but I did notice a slight reflection of the recital projector in the view lens when the sun was on a front angle to the rifle. Now it did not blind or make the sight nonoperational in any way but its there. The sight was easy to adjust and held that adjustment over 200rds fired for the day. It does seem strange that the designer used a CR2 battery instead of the more common CR123 battery but since they are both in the same price range I would suggest buying a Ten pack of the CR2's when you order the sight since your local store may not carry this type of battery. Lastly I also liked the fact the the Q/D feature works as it should once adjusted to your mount and does return to near zero when removed and reinstalled. My unit only had less then a 1/4 inch change of impact which is consistent with the $500.00+ dollar red dots out there. I can see me using this sight on all my fun guns and if she holds up over the next year or two maybe a serious use rig.
