Patriotic Realist's Review of Timney Triggers CZ Scorpion Drop In Trigger

As expected, this cartridge trigger kit has an excellent, light and crisp trigger break and short reset. Scorpion can be viewed as one of the more budget military proven SMG's out there. I had the Stribog, but it's controls are funky. This trigger along with your chosen improved furniture can make it a much better option without buying a $2k+ Sig product.
One of the issues with the Scorpion aside from the trigger not being that great (I had the spring kit in it previously which helped a little bit) is the ridiculously tight safety lever. This Timney kit replaces the safety detent system and improves it massively. If you look at the photo you can see the little pin poking down from the top of the safety drum hole (the safety drum is what the safety levers fasten to). That is the safety detent that operates on the safety drum. It now operates with a spring loaded pin that rides on the safety drum just like an AR15 safety detent. The original safety is just a fixed sheetmetal "finger" with very little flex. Note that, on the photo, there is an allen key on the top of the cartridge; you can ADJUST the tension of the safety detent and therefore the safety levers. Be sure to loosen it slightly when installing the safety drum to make it easier on the user to get the safety drum fitted through the cartridge. This isn't mentioned in the instruction.
All told, this makes the little Scorpion a much improved gun. Don't question it; if your Scorpion is a suppressor host or defensive weapon it deserves a nice trigger.
Pros:
  • clean, fast trigger
  • safety feel like an AR15
Cons:
  • A bit pricey
  • Not the best instructions
Best Used for:
  • SBR, suppressor host, defensive weapon
