ThatGuy's Review of Vism Tourniquet / Tactical Shear Pouch

I've got mixed feelings about this pouch. The design and price is great, but the quality control sucks. I ordered two units and both had real sloppy stitching and one had a stitch fail completely.

On the bright side it's dirt cheap. I couldn't buy the materials for as cheap as this costs assembled, so I suppose one has to take that into account. It fits a standard CAT tourniquet and trauma shears well enough, albeit tightly. Removal isn't as quick or easy as some other models like Condor's tourniquet pouch, but it's okay.

As far as cons, the two horizontal buckles on the back aren't removable (nor is the molle strap), so whichever mounting method you choose you're going to have the bulk and hassle of the other buckles on the rear doing nothing. That makes this pouch slightly less versatile than other models. And like mentioned before, the quality leaves quite a bit to desire.

All in all, if you need half a dozen pouches for backup bags, this is a great deal for the price. But I'd probably choose something a bit nice for my main bag. Now if they up the quality control, I'd be happy to reassess.
Pros:
  • Cheap
  • aesthetically pleasing
  • Decent design
Cons:
  • poor quality control
  • poor stitching
  • Bulky-ish
  • Non-removable straps
Best Used for:
  • Backup bags
