These syringeless filters feature a PvDF membrane and an ultra-fine prefilter. The AV125 size filters feature a 50/50 tip opening and are ideal for removing unwanted substances by aspiration or by filter backwashing. Whatman's syringeless filters are used in emergency departments for removing unwanted materials by aspiration. Filters feature an orange-brown color. Whatman AV syringeless filters are used for blood, urine, and stool specimens in hospitals and other healthcare settings. Transvaginal filters are intended for use with normal syringes and require a vacuum assist device to reseal the whatman filter cartridge. All other series are designed for close-in administration and should be sterilized by autoclave.
