These Armor Plates by AR500 Armor utilize a hybrid construction that consists of a woven aramid net that is combined with a breathable polymer. This combination makes the panel more comfortable to wear and increases the plate's overall level of protection. However, is important to note that all these components make a panel's level of cost. Some pure aramid panel companies will sell their level of aramid protection, but will fail to provide the same level of impact resistance or provide the same level of overall protection. On the other hand, hybrid constructed panels will provide a lighter weight, less flexible and more flexible feel.
