This syringe adapter is used to connect syringes to centrifuge rotors whose openings are too small to receive the syringe tip. Specifically designed to fit with the smaller rotors of the BDTM Quick Change Centrifuge resulting in a smaller inlet port required for the addition of the dye for the detection of tubing or wires, thus greatly simplifying the identification and tracing of tubing. It has been reported that syringe adapters resulting in smaller inlet sizes may be of greater value to a manufacturer than a centrifuge adapter resulting in loss of yield and/or sample integrity. As a result of a design that minimizes the number of seals and syringes required for operation, syringe adapters have been used to date in a number of veterinary diagnostic procedures. However, syringe adapter groups have been used in only a handful of clinical studies. As a result, a syringe adapter group has been developed. This group consists of a small plastic syringe with an O-ring inserted into the filtering arm. The filter adapter housing, filter, and disc assembly (all of which can be exchanged with alternate adapters) all have O-rings in common with the O-ring adapters. A spheroid needle is included. This adapter is not intended for use with the O-Ring or filter head rotors.
