Compact, disposable anaerobic catalyst generator that converts N2 into organic carbon dioxide and water. The generator converts N2 into organic carbon dioxide and water, and stores it in a reagent bottle. It may be filtered (e.g., by centrifugation with a BD ATC Fast Flow Tracer) or granular (e.g., by sonication). The anaerobic catalyst generator consumes the supplied catalyst charges during operation, and the evaporated water in the catalyst bottle is consumed during testing and system maintenance. Since catalyst consumption is completely regulated by the electrode position, there is no concern for the organism being cultured. Authentic spheroid cultures are not required.
