Poly-Lysine Cellware consists of a broad selection of cell culture inserts, plates, and other cultureware that have been treated with a poly-Lysine (poly-D-lysine or poly-L-lysine) surface chemistry. Corning treats the surface of these cell culture inserts with a uniform application of poly-D-lysine, and they are suitable for most fastidious as well as non-fastidious cell types. Cell culture preparations made with Corning BioCoat Poly-Lysine Cellware can be used with mouse embryonic stem cells in feeder-conditioned media and will not support multi- and trans-differentiation. Additionally, feeder-conditioned media will not promote multi- or trans-differentiation in differentiated feeder-dependent cells. For this reason, Corning recommends Corning BioCoat Poly-Lysine Cellware to all users for in vitro cell culture assays using feeder-conditioned media. Additionally, feeder-free transfection chemistry based on feeder-conditioned media is also recommended.
