Slide Agglutination Tests: Vibrio Cholerae Antiserum, Factor 8 - BD Diagnostic Systems developed an enhanced slide agglutination test, which allows the clinician to differentiate between non-pathogenic E. coli and pathogenic Vibrio cholerae by using a slide agglutination test. The modified ring system eliminates the need for two antisera from the same species. It is used for slide agglutination tests performed on a hemagglutination plate, in which an antibody binds to a specific antigen on the slide. The BD slide agglutination test can be used to differentiate between non-pathogenic E. coli and pathogenic Vibrio cholerae. The enhanced ring structure provides a uniform antigenic distribution.
