The incorporated light source in the reader produces a bright halo of light at the point of writing, indicating positive test results. The test circle remains printed on the card until the reader is removed. Then, the circle goes out of focus, revealing the original test result. The circle can then be used as a circle printer to print additional test spots. The test circle is dried after each use and each card is replaced with a fresh one. The reader and circling device are no longer needed. The entire unit can be disposed of after each use or a sample is returned to the manufacturer for re-use.
