These fine-pore quality media have a long-lasting shelf life and are useful for the presumptive identification of hemolytic activity. The BDTM Chromogenic Medium for Hemorheology does not require that blood or plasma be collected and incubated prior to adding the medium to the bacterial population. Bacillus anathina produces a brown colorless powder when viewed under a light microscope. This indicates that the medium contains an appreciable amount of residual thioglycollate that may hinder conversion of the glucuronide from the glucuronide back into a glucuronide. The BDTM Chromogenic Medium without Dextrose does not require the addition of any other products in order to prepare the medium.
