Product Category Description:

Spin-on, self-sealing rotors provide a definite visual indication of flow in a tubing line. Small bubbles, which indicate flow, remain in the same size for weeks. When fluid begins to flow, the bubbles coalesce into a 'snowfall' on the outside of the indicator. As the fluid level on the inside of the indicator decreases, the rotor turns a different color, indicating that the fluid level has dropped by the indicated amount. The color change from red to green is due to flow-stimulating dilatation of the fluid molecules within the indicator. When the color changes, the fluid is no longer live, but has died and must be replaced. This procedure does not affect the chemical or temperature stability of the fluid. The bubbles in the flow indicator are caused by the rotation of the flow sensor and are not permanent once flow ceases. For fast, continuous visual indication of fluid flow in tubing or containers use the Roto-Flo flow indicator with the large flow indicator rotor. Ordering Information: The large flow indicator with large hole is supplied with a plastic handle and locating flags. Large yellow fluid bubbles indicate fluid flow in a flow direction. The indicators with large yellow fluid bubbles require that the fluid temperature does not rise above 64°C (150°F).
