This cabinet is designed for use in a dark room or fume hood where volatiles, corrosives, condensation and possible contamination must be kept under control. The Bel-Art Secador 4.0 Auto-Desiccator Cabinet provides protection for a wide range of humidity-sensitive materials including reagents, volatiles, analytical standards and investigational compounds. Ambient conditions, such as high humidity or near total vacuum, must not be allowed to exceed a set minimum relative humidity, as measured by a hygrometer. The Bel-Art Secador 4.0 Cabinet assures continuous protection with a "passive" (no-scatter) layer of desiccating crystals which is automatically recharged with ambient drying minerals inside a sealed module. There is no adsorption layer to block humidity or light. Even when in use, the self-scrubbing vapor layer continuously removes moisture from the air inside the cabinet. When the cabinet is turned on, the automatic dehumidification and desiccant regeneration cycle stops and the silica gel indicator turns pink (indicating that the desiccant is exhausted).
