Bel-Art Spinbar Stir Bars, Polygon 371205004

The Bel-Art Spinbar Polygon Magnetic Stir Bar is encased in a glass polymer. The resulting friction with the non-magnetic glass retainer provides a smoother and more economical stirring action than Teflon® type NBR. The polygon-shaped magnet does not attract, however, it will repel magnetic particles. For that reason, it is used in such applications as a magnetic stirring device for beakers, color indicators, pH indicators, and the like. After the reaction is complete, the buffer medium returns to its original volume, and the original stir bar is used. Chemical compatibility with the surrounding medium is not required, although it may influence results.
