The Spinplus Magnetic Stirring Bar is encapsulated in FDA Grade, USP Class VI Teflon PTFE low-friction coating. The pure Teflon PTFE material provides a slippery surface that facilitates stirring without wear or deterioration. The spin plus magnetic stirring bars feature a Teflon PTFE low-friction coating, with added stability compared to that of a ferrite magnet, and excellent tensile strength. Long, narrower than round magnetic stirring bars, Spinplus magnetic stirring bars are excellent for use in thin liquids where stirring bars tend to bounce back and forth. The large pole on the top and bottom of the bar maximizes contact with the vessel, allowing the entire mixture to be mixed in the vessel. High-power magnets are used for high-torque mixing, and low-torque mixing wells. Even though they are magnetic, the strong magnetic field of the Spinplus stirring bars causes them to stay stationary, except during vigorous mixing or when the vessel is rotated. This feature prevents damage to sensitive surfaces, such as metals, electronics, and magnetic stirring tips that can generate intense heat.
