Bel-Art Y Connector 3/16" PK/12 196130000 is a sturdy, reliable plastic Y connector that has many small arms or points that fit into the same plane. The orifice size is rated for either liquids or gases, and the male pipe threading is not affected by solvents, alcohols, or caustics liquids, making these connectors useful for both liquids and gases. Bel-Art Y connectors are constructed of durable, heavy-duty polypropylene plastic and are autoclavable. Chemical-resistant properties of these materials make it suitable for use with a variety of substances, including organic solvents and alcohols. However, fittings for thinner walled tubing, such as Clarity-Film and Evacuation Tubing, require the tubing to have a greater wall thickness. Some fittings have a thicker walled body that may not be suitable for all installations or usages. For smaller diameter tubes, use a reducer cap or sleeve, such as a dual tapered connector below the tubing, or a reducing bushing of the same size as the tubing being joined.
