The Boyds At-One Marlin XL7 Long Action Gun Stock has an action that is a little longer than normal so it requires a little longer bedding. However, this does not mean that the stock can not be made to fit those factory actions. On the Marlin XL7 (aka: Model XL) the action is relatively short and the gun has a factory barrel channel. With that said, the action can be made to fit with a simple adjustment to the stock. The gunstock is constructed of top grain hardwood and specially designed to fit both right-hand and left-hand actions. All the stock's action is made of hard ground laminated hardwood veneers. Thumbholes are built in to make sure that the shooter's hand doesn't accidentally release the trigger guard. This is a Boyds patent pending patented process. After the gunstock is fitted with a new cleaning rod the action can be easily disassembled by simply pulling the disassembled thumbhole and inserting the new locking plate. The At-One Marlin XL7 Long Action Gun Stock can then be installed on the gun by using the traditional method with the old elk hair is inserted into the tie down slots. The barrel must extend outside of the gun in order for the bedding to reach the ejection port.
