Forends are one of the few places where solid fiberglass can be used. At Boyds we use as many man made materials as possible, such as polymer, but stock wood and stainless steel, whenever possible. We figure if a customer has a gun they are going to need a gun to go with their fancy new forend, why not go with something that is going to be good for the gun as well as the shooter. The Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks ultra Slug 12 gauge forend is a great example of that. When you go to a show they always have a hard time finding a fiberglass forend that looks even close to the original. At Boyds we use only top grade materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, rifle stock plastics and fiberglass. Nothing says "Imported" better than a high quality, hand crafted, gun stock.
