Not only does the BrandTech PFA Reagent Bottles prevent chemical leaching, it also prevents acids, alkalis, and organic solvents from attacking the integrity of the bottles. For trace analysis, the long-term stability of the bottles is essential, as is their irreversible sealing ability. Because of PFA's unique molecular structure, it does not become acidic or alkaline. To preserve the integrity of the bottles, the caps are also necessary, since the bottles are exposed to elevated temperatures. A barrier coating on the necks of the bottles and caps keeps acids and surfactants from absorbing into the bottle. Threaded caps also prevent chemical exposure, since the bottles are designed to accept sealing rings. The only thing that will not stop these BrandTech Leach-resistant Bottles from working is an acid.
