This KMR rail section adapts the 1913 Picatinny rail standard interface, to a modular locking system that accommodates the BCM proprietary keymod handguard attachment system. As an added benefit, this also converts the KMR into a scalable modular system, further increasing the adaptability and utility of the KMR system. The KMR is designed to function as a stand alone system, but can also be mounted onto a modular portion of a modular BCM rail, by using the modularity and strength of the modularity features within the BCM Rail family. This allows the user to utilize the full capability of the modularity within the BCM Rail family, by easily expanding or contracting the modularity based on their current needs or wants, while maintaining compatibility with the host systems KeyMod has become the preferred mounting platform of choice among Professional Military, Law Enforcement and SWAT personnel, as well as end-users. This is due to the ingenious modularity and interconnected system of the BCM Rail family, which allows the end user to utilize the modularity of the BCM Rails within their personal gear, without interference or frustration from odd attachment methods.
