Product Info for C.A.M.P. Corner Piton
The Camp Corner Piton is a new innovation in pitons, specifically suited for micro cracks in rock. The U-shaped shaft of the CAMP Corner Climbing Piton creates spring tension when the piton is driven into a crack that is significantly narrower than the width of the pitons. Compression of the metal and leverage from directional pull no longer is the main factor in determining a pitons holding power. The U-shaped shaft of the CAMP Corner Climbing Pivot #1 is designed to add holding power when aided by a cam or notching your rope. Its thicker profile traps a small percentage of the wall's vertical heat, so it can be used in hot spots that traditional pitons leave unattended in cracks. The Camp Corner Climbing Piton is made for micro-sized cracks (think of the size of a dime and how it feels in your hand when you hold it) and it's designed to be hammered rather than pushed into a stone surface. This design makes it a better choice for micro-tuning and delicate work.
