How does it work in snow conditions. Can it handle pellets, is it total water proof,is it bear proof Expert Answer

The manufacturer says:

1. It works very well in snow conditions. You will not see a difference in efficiency when it comes to winter weather. The included solar panel keeps the battery fully charged year round, and therefore keeps the motor and timer working strong through snowy weather.

2. Our feeders are designed to throw corn. That being said, it will work with pellets if the pellets are mixed in with the corn. It will not work on just pellets alone, as the auger is too powerful and will just grind the protein pellets up.

3. All Capsule Feeders are completely water proof. There is no access point for water to get inside, as we seal the only exposed area with a rubber grommet.

4. Capsule Feeders hold up very well against bears. Especially the 1000 lb feeder and its size. We do offer a bear proof cage that will guarantee the feeder to be 100% bear proof, but that item is sold separately.
