Product Info for CAS Hanwei Practical BasketHilt Mortuary 30.5in. Blade Sword
The Practical Mortuary has as its focus a Mortuary Sword used for symbolic or dramatic re-enactments of the heroic deaths of the past few centuries. It has a broad blade and short sharp edge suitable for piercing. The blade is crafted from 1065 high carbon steel by MIM (Martial Arts Research Institute) with a double fuller. The guard and pommel are forged from a brass using a traditional T shape. The hilt from this Mortuary Sword is a traditional Japanese basket-handle design, the hilt is crafted from blackened iron using traditional Japanese iron or brass. All fittings, including the unique guard with rope wrap are crafted by hand.
