The EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter is a must-have accessory perfect for viewing the Sun and eclipses like the upcoming 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse and 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Affordable, easy to use, and best of all, Solar Safe, this filter conforms to the ISO 12312-2:2015(E) international safety standard. The EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter works with any optic or lens measuring 75 to 100 mm in diameter, including telescopes, spotting scopes, and DSLR camera lenses. The solar filter fits around your optical device with adjustable side panels that secure with a rubber band for a snug fit. Celestron recommend that you change out the bands frequently. To replace use #32 rubber bands. When its not in use, fold the filter flat and place it inside the reusable bag.

If you plan to use this filter with your DSLR camera, Celestron recommend adding a sunshade to the camera lens. This will expand the lens diameter and allow for a more secure attachment to the filter using the rubber bands. We also recommend using a tripod, monopod, or other stabilizing device with your camera setup. You can use your camera and filter intermittently over extended periods of up to several hours, but do not point your camera and filter directly at the Sun for more than three continuous minutes.

Never use this filter if your camera has an optical viewfinder. If you are uncertain about the type of viewfinder on your camera, do not use this filter. Always ensure that the filter is placed directly onto the camera lens during imaging, never between the viewfinder and your eye.

If you would like to use tape to secure the filter to your optic, Celestron recommends low-tack painter's tape to prevent any potential damage to your optic.
