Can you use it for dry fire and with training firearms?

The Pocket Pro timer can be used for both dry fire and live fire practice. The shot sensor is not able to pick up the sound of dry fire, but you can set a second beep and try to complete your drill before the second beep occurs. Example: If you know it typically takes about 1.2 seconds for you to draw and fire the first shot, then set the timer for a 1.2 second interval for the second beep and as you get faster, change the interval to challenge your skills. There are many videos on youtube that demonstrate this method.

You can use it indoors, however it may not be able to differentiate between your shots and fellow shooters.

The timer was priced about right and performers as advertised. A little large but does come with a belt clip. Timer accuracy is good and it is simple to use by yourself or with another person doing the timing.
