PTFE Beakers offer many of the advantages that PTFE entails over traditional glass. One of these advantages is that PTFE won't react with most acids and bases, including those containing a catalyst, reducing the possibility of product etching or chemical attack. Beakers have a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) content throughout the entire volume, eliminating glass-on-glass contact between acids and bases. Beakers also have a PTFE lid with a Class VI (DIN) cover. Beakers with the larger sizes are intended for batch production of hot distilled water whereas the smaller sizes are for diluted or acetate-blended solutions, such as for use with concentrated aqueous solutions. To ensure purity, only use a Coley filter with a Class VI PTFE element.
