Product Info for DMM Vertex Hammer
A very lightweight technical mountaineering tool with modular pick system, for use in a wide variety of alpine terrain. The shaft geometry is straight enough to be efficient on less steep ground and for plunging in snow yet curved enough to have a precise swing and provide clearance over ice bulges.
Features of DMM Vertex Hammer

- Sliding Finger Rest compatible with Vertex, Spire and Spire Tech
- High strength steel alloy pick, spike, adze/hammer for excellent durability
- Minimalist hot forged head, for strength and durability. Designed to comfortably fit the hand
- Raised spline on pick allows the tool to be used with, or without, an adze or hammer
- DMMs tried and tested highly functional compact adze, perfectly formed for cutting out belays and preparing ice screw placements
- New compact hammer ideal for driving in pitons and adding weight to the swing of the axe
- Equal weights on both the adze and hammer, give a balanced swing when using two tools
- Strong and light anodised aluminium shaft, for reliable support
