Questions & Answers
Will this mount work with a new Winchester model 70 .308 and a Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12x40 scope. Would I need low or medium? Expert Answer

The DNZ Winchester Model 70 Short Action 1 Inch Scope Tube will work with a Model 70 in .308 and Leupold VX Freedom 4-12x40mm scope. That scope has an objective lens outside diameter of 1.83". The DNZ Winchester Model 70 Short Action 1 Inch Scope Tube low mounts have a centerline scope height of .92" which should work with that scope. However, without being able to measure it on the specific model Winchester Model 70 you have the medium height will offer enough clearance with a height of 1.05".

New model 70 short actions need the WSM mount by Jake S, December 3, 2015
As it has been stated by other reviewers, if you have the newer short action Model 70, you'll need the WSM mount as the spacing is different. I just measured the spacing on my new Featherweight .243 and the spacing on the regular short action mount ...

Very well made, cost about the same as traditional rings and mounts but its much stronger and with integrated rings. I will probably replace all my old mounts with DNZ mounts.
