Can and how do you remove the Handguard to put on a quad rail?

Yes. The same way you do with any standard FSB set up,"Goat". Remove FH, drive taper pins out, remove FSB, remove FF tube, Assuming FF quad tube is the same diameter as the smooth FF tube and barrel nut can accommodate the FF quad tube locking bolt, install quad tube. If not, need to remove smooth tube barrel nut and install the one with the quad tube, install FF quad tube lock ring and tube, install locking bolt, re-mount FSB, drive pins in FSB (flush-ish), re-attach FH. And lastly, having proper AR tools is your friend. 20yrs ago these kitty kat uppers were popular, did this mod many times.

Product Info for DPMS Kitty Kat C7 5.56x45mm NATO, 7.5 inch Upper Receiver

Barrel: Chrome-moly vanadium steel barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:7 twist rate, M4 barrel extension, and a pistol-length gas system. The nitrided barrel is finished off with a 4in knurled tube free-float handguard, R-marked front sight gas block, and an A2 flash hider.image

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 C7 AR upper is machined to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized. Uppers include forward assist, dust cover, and A1 rear sight appature.

Bolt Carrier Group: Shot-peened, mil-spec Carpenter 158 steel bolt. Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications, fastened with Grade 8 screws, and Staked Per Mil-Spec. Carrier is 8620 steel M-16 full auto profile and is chrome lined and phosphate coated.
