This call is a polycarbonate 'picker' call and is great for all conditions, regardless of range or terrai. You can produce the 'squawkbox' sounds that young mallard hens use when feeding on grubs, quail, woodies, etc. It is also great for calling old hens out of hiding. The call allows you to replicate all sounds that the courting mallard hen uses, which is a high pitch hen call. It will bring in the hens, and you can figure out how close they are willing to come in on a wet beak, or a dry beak. Works wet or dry, and in between. Produces a very loud, very clear, very distinct sound that you can pick apart to make the calls that sound like you're in the tree stand, or in the blind.
