as far as I know the military issued 1911 WW2 Model Colt 1911manufactured in 1941 is not a garrison model. My question was would this fit my pistol.

the top of the cut on a WW2 1911 1941 model is .290 wide and .075 deep

The Ed Brown Products 1911 Adjustable Rear Sight notch width is approximately 0.115. Dovetail is 60 degrees x 0.359. The Garrison requires a 65 degree x .495". This sight would not be compatible. You will need to use a Novak pattern rear sight such as the Kensight DAS Adjustable Rear 1911 Night Sight, which can be found by using the link below:
