Slides are specially treated for maximum charge retention. A permanent charge is generated by the tissue contacting surface, resulting in minimal tissue loss during staining. Freeze-thawed sections will not spread or bind to other slides when frozen. The superior non-adhesive labeling of Erie Scientific Colorfrost Plus Slides allows you to identify frozen sections and cytology preparations (cytospins, blood smears, etc.). These Erie Scientific Slides are designed for use with either liquid-filled or pre-frozen slides, as well as with slides bearing permanent stamps, molecular slides, or slides with other types of permanent labels. These slides feature a permanent positive charge, which is why they are referred to as "freeze-thaw" slides. Freeze-dried sections of tissue, cytology preparations, and cytospins will stick to the slide without any expensive or time-consuming preparatory steps in the laboratory.
