Combines the power of a monolithic copper bullet with the accuracy of a hollow point design, delivering explosive terminal performance with maximum weight retention. The fusion of the copper jacket and lead core provides the core with the uniform expansion needed to retain as much weight as possible. This has a domino affect on the rest of the bullet: Smaller, un-primed soft points generally have more mass retained by the point of impact than larger, more uniformly bonded soft points. The fusion process also provides a uniform jacket thickness, eliminating the need for the electro-chemically applied copper coating used by some manufacturers. Although the precise scientific process by which the ammunition is loaded into the case is proprietary, Federal Fusion rifles have proven themselves over the years. The company says the hollow point design works because of the uniform pressures created by the electro-chemically applied copper coating process. It is the consistency and precision that make Fusion rifles the optimum soft point designs.
