Questions & Answers
Where are these manufactured at? Japan?

JAPAN.... have owned this version and the 7x50s for over 20 years Built like a battle ship and optically excellent. I use for astronomy and for that use you will need some sort of a mount as you won't be able to hand hold such a high magnification. If you are an older person like me (77 years old), these are a better choice for light gathering than the 7x50 or 10x70 versions since as we age the maximum opening diameter or our ipupils is smaller (7mm for a youth vs. 5.5 or)so for an older persion. That being said those 7x or 10x versions do have a wider ;FOV and that may be more important for you even if slightlty less light gaterhing ability. That is why I got the 7x50- version.. Note that these are nitrogen filled and sealed so no issues with internal fogging which is a big issue often for night time use or in humid conditions. These use only individual focusing of each eyepiece. There is no barrel focus knob that focuses each at the same time. But even for day time use that never was an issue for me. That is how they are able to have such good internal dew prevention. Perhaps if you are mainly someone interested in wild life viewing these would not be a good choice compared to a lighter, and barrel focus option. I have several -airs of binoculars and these are my favorite.... even for wildlife or birding but something to consider.... just don't forget that for any use they will need to be mounted on a support. For wildlife I use a monopod.
