Designed for open carry when hunting, hiking, camping, or adventuring in the wilderness, the versatile APO can be worn in either the strongside or crossdraw position at the user's preference. The low ride positioning increases comfort and helps to clear pack straps or other gear. A traditional retention strap features a glove-friendly polymer tab, and secures the pistol in the brush, over rugged terrain, or when riding a horse, motorbike or ATV/UTV. Tension screw adjustment allows for a custom fit to the pistol.

The design is cut to accommodate most carry-style optics while working equally well with iron-sighted pistols. The optic cutaway also allows the pistol to clear leather even faster, and promotes a smoother, faster draw for shorter-waisted users.
