Both rails take up the same length of your rifle rail. That is 12 lugs in length of riser. The longer riser is for extra scope lengths needed for certain optics or added night vision devices. in most cases. the shorter riser will be the best choice. Less expensive also!!

As with the other 10 or so GG&G products I own, you cannot find anything stronger or more reliable. Locks down straight as an arrow and exceeds all expectations.
