Flexible Glas-Col Hemispherical Mantles, Series O, 100AO404 have been designed to fit a wide variety of heat-exchanger vessels for the safest possible operation. The general design of the Glas-Col 100AO404 Hemispherical Mantle for Flasks provides for snug fit, increased heat transfer, while maintaining maximum joint safety. A selection of different mantles are designed for a wide range of application in vacuum and aseptic processing, and for safety-related procedures. When performing these procedures in a cold room, heating the mantles with a Bunsen burner is often preferred to a Bunsen burner. However, be aware that a Bunsen burner may have to be replaced after extensive use or at the very least, after frequent use and frequent washings. This is because the Bunsen burner has to be placed on a support pad first, and then the support pad. Failure to provide a support pad may result in reduced heat transfer efficiency and possible loss of the mantle.
